Even though you might believe that by doing everything at once you can save time and be a lot more efficient, any life trainer will tell you that you’re wrong. It’s a super short way to stressing yourself, overloading your brain, getting needlessly tired, and even weakening your immune system. Here are a few tips on how to make time for yourself.
1. Delegate More
There’s no need to do everything yourself. It might be difficult at first, but you must learn to relinquish control. You can simply ask your family to do some of the chores and errands that are house-related. In the same way, urge your friends to take over some of the tasks that are group-related, such as buying presents, booking traveling tickets, and so on. Your office is no different, and your colleagues can share the load.
2. Learn to Say No
We know that you want to be a people pleaser but, in time, that can lead to overexerting yourself. Sometimes, you just have to say no. For example, when you receive a last-minute project at work and it’s already a quarter to five, say no. Are you just now finding out you have to bake two dozen cupcakes for a school fundraiser even though they could have told you yesterday? Say no.
3. Shop in Bulk
Shopping for everyday items is a lot more stressful then you think, especially when you have a family to cater for. You have to take everyone’s needs, likes, dislikes, and whims into consideration and you have to stay on budget somehow. One simple way out of all that stress is buying in bulk. Think of non-perishable products or those that have a long shelf-life such as toothpaste, shower gel, soap, pasta, ketchup, detergent, and so on. There’s no need to buy these every single week and burden yourself.
It’s also a good idea to think ahead in terms of holidays and birthdays so that you can skip on the turmoil and stress. Keep party decorations in your pantry at all times. Tip – buy them offseason when they are a lot cheaper.
4. Go Online
Since we’re on the topic of shopping, online is the best option if you want to know how to make time for yourself. In this day and age, literally everything is available for online shopping. Toys, clothes, books, furniture, tickets, cosmetics, even food. You name it. Do your shopping in a spare hour, and then you can have the rest of the afternoon off.

5. Minimize Your Tasks
Here’s a great tip from life trainers. Take a good look at all your tasks and ask yourself questions about them. Do you really have to go to the car wash every week, even if the car isn’t dirty or splattered? How about your lawn? Must it be perfectly manicured? Maybe you can find a better use for that time like taking a walk and relaxing.
We live in an extremely fast-paced environment that seems to be asking more and more from us as time goes by. This is why it’s so important to know how to make time for yourself. These tips are just of few of the multitude of ways in which you can do it. Let us know in the comment section if you need a life trainer.
