You made all the right decisions and yet, somehow, you still feel there’s more to life than this. There has to be. There’s a part missing, and you feel it, not on the surface but somewhere deep down inside. If that is the case, then it may be time for a career change. But how can you honestly tell if you should go for it or not? The first step would be for you to read our article and see if any of the things we’ve listed match how you feel every day.

1. You have a strong feeling that your talents, knowledge, and personality traits can be put to better use. You might be doing very well at your current job, but, somehow, you can’t help but believe that, given another opportunity, maybe a better one, you would positively shine.

2. You constantly envy your friends. Everybody else always seems to be doing better than you. They have more interesting jobs than you, they make much more money than you do, and they just seem to be happier altogether in their day-to-day lives. If so, it’s time for a career change for you. You deserve to be just as happy as they are.

3. You have reached a point where the salary you earn, no matter how high, simply can’t make up for all the boredom and sense of wasting time you’re feeling. Money is, evidently, necessary. More than that, being wealthy is a goal for many people. However, when the money stops bringing the happiness and sense of accomplishment you deserve, it’s time for a career change.

It simply means that you are not a shallow person and that you need more than material things and financial gain to feel fulfilled and happy.

4. You are so worn out and exhausted that you feel you’re beyond tired. Sometimes, a career change can be prompted by the fact that you are feeling utterly depleted of energy and will of doing said job. All the people who have the job of their dreams say it doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s a pleasurable time and they enjoy it thoroughly.

More than that, they say they go to bed late at night and can’t wait to wake up the next morning just so that they can do it all over again. Is this how you’re feeling about your current job? Probably not. In this case, it is unquestionably time for a career change.

There is no point in rejecting a career change, no matter how scared you might be about it. Being at a job which you dislike and know you were not cut out for will only make you feel worse and worse as time goes by. So, why not take the big leap?
