On the other hand, the term quality control refers to activities that you do to make sure your products are qualitative. In this case, you focus on the actual product, after you’ve already produced it. This process aims to uncover any defects that might damage its quality. Quality control focuses more on the product itself rather than the process through which we make the product. Thus, it is a reactive process, instead of a proactive one.

The main goal of this process is to make sure the product doesn’t have any defects before selling it to customers. This also means that quality control pays more attention to customers’ requirements. Consequently, it does everything it can to keep clients happy.

If we decide to use only quality control, that means that we would never take a closer look at the process through which the products are made. Thus, we would be unable to identify any issues that might result in lower-quality. Furthermore, we would never improve the aforementioned processes, which should be one of the key concerns of any business.

Consequently, there is no way of looking at quality assurance vs quality control and choose a winner. If you want to develop a successful business, you’ll have to pay an equal amount of attention to both.
