We’ve all been there: the alarm is incessantly ordering you to wake up, and even if you know you should, you press the snooze button and go back to sleep. The “5 more minutes” you mumble turn into half an hour and then you’re late for work again. Whether you don’t usually get a lot of sleep at night, or you do, but you’re simply not a morning person, you’re going to love the topic of today’s article. We’re here to provide you with some tips on how to get up early and start the day feeling refreshed (as much as possible).
How to Get up Early and Be Productive All Day
#Think of Some Lovely Morning Rituals
Most of us dread mornings because we know we have to wake up early and get ready to go to work. The fact that you go straight from bed, to getting ready, and then leaving for work is not making waking up any easier. Which is why we recommend you to put aside at least 15 minutes each morning. Use them for a routine that gives you pleasure and provides you with the energy you need to survive the rest of the day.
It can be anything from enjoying your coffee outside while looking at the sunrise, to doing some yoga. Thinking about this small and pleasurable ritual every night before you go to bed will make it easier for you to wake up in the morning.
#Change Your Alarm Tone
You might be suspiciously raising an eyebrow now, wondering how that can possibly help you get up early. Well, most of us use alarm tones that are really loud and aggressive. This is primarily because we feel like we wouldn’t wake up otherwise. However, be honest, don’t you just hate that alarm that you hear every morning? That is because you already associate it with having to get out of bed. Try to switch your alarm to something more soothing or at least to your favorite song. That way, there are more chances of you waking up with a smile on your face.
#Get Something Important (for You) Accomplished
Sometimes, one of the things that motivate us to wake up early is the feeling that we’re going to accomplish something meaningful. Of course, the definition of meaningful varies from person to person. The trick is to find something you consider important and try to tackle it in the morning. It can be as small as going through your e-mails. No matter what it is, it will give you a sense of accomplishment that you can hold on to for the rest of the day.
Finally, if nothing else works, you can also try to come up with something that you can indulge in if you manage to wake up early. Maybe there’s a type of candy you’ve always wanted to try. Or perhaps you want to go to the movies but you’ve been postponing it for a long time. Treat yourself with a small reward every time you wake up early and are productive for the entire day. However, be careful not to overspend.
These tips on how to get up early and get things done are guaranteed to make you more productive. Give them a try as soon as possible!
